Shibuya Scramble Crossing

The multi-cornered intersection in front of Shibuya Station is known around the world for the massive volume of pedestrians that traverse it. This constantly dynamic center of urban activity is a Tokyo icon. Huge electronic billboards, commercial facilities with fashion stores, restaurants, and more, and office buildings surround the intersection. Every few minutes, traffic stops in all directions, and pedestrians cross straight and diagonally in seemingly every possible route from A to B. All these people criss-crossing but almost never bumping into each other is a sight to behold, whether you’re in it or looking at it from above.
