Yamazaki House
A blend of Japanese and Western styles, this building was built as a retirement home for Kashichi Yamazaki, the fifth generation of Kawagoe's long-established Kameya confectionery business. In 2000, the main building, tea ceremony room and koshikake-waiting room were designated tangible cultural properties by the city, and in 2006 the building was donated to the city. In February 2011, the garden was registered as a national monument (place of scenic beauty).
