Located in the lush greenery of Hakone’s Sengokuhara, the Hakone Venetian Glass Museum is dedicated to showcasing Venetian glassworks. Their collection includes delicate and elegant Venetian glass that captivated European aristocrats from the 15th to 18th century, as well as modern Venetian glasses replicated from the end of 19th century. The main attraction is a crystal glass arch that stretches 9 meters (29.5 ft) high and 10 meters (32.8 ft) long, featuring about 160,000 crystal glass pieces that sway in the Hakone breeze, revealing ever-changing expressions. At the garden overlooking the O-wakudani Valley, crystal glass art pieces flourish alongside the seasonal flowers and scenery, while the café restaurant offers an elegant respite.
