SAKURA SAMURAI EXPERIENCE

The city of Sakura is a castle town officially registered as Japan Heritage. Here, you can get a feel for the Edo period (1603–1867) amid the Hokuso townscape, where old streets and buildings remain intact. During the Edo period, the town focused on studying Western sciences through the Dutch language. Many young people studied here and went on to work in medicine.
